The district court of Reichelsheim in the Odenwald was a Hessian district court of ordinary jurisdiction from 1904 to 1968 with its seat in Reichelsheim (Odenwald) .

On March 1, 1904, the Grand Ducal Ministry of Justice announced that on April 1 of that year the District Court of Reichelsheim i. O. take up its activity, and determined that the district of this court from the places Bockenrod , Eberbach , Erzbach , Fränkisch-Crumbach with Hof Bierbach , Erlau, Güttersbach and Michelbach, Frohnhofen , Groß-Gumpen , Kirch-Beerfurth , Klein-Gumpen , Laudenau , Nieder-Kainsbach , Ober-Gersprenz , Ober-Kainsbach , Ober-Klein-Gumpen , Ober-Easter , Pfaffen-Beerfurth , Reichelsheim , Rohrbach with Reichenberger Forst, Unter-Gersprenz , Unter-Easter and Winterkasten was formed. With effect from July 1, 1904, the places Affhöllerbach , Stierbach and Kilsbach were separated from the district court district Höchst im Odenwald and assigned to this district court district. On July 1, 1957, the municipalities of Höllerbach and Wallbach were incorporated from the district court district of Höchst by decision of the Hessian state parliament . The district court of Reichelsheim in the Odenwald was subordinate to the district court of Darmstadt in the instance .

On July 1, 1968, the district court was dissolved, the municipality of Fränkisch-Crumbach was added to the district court of Dieburg , the communities of Laudenau and Winterkasten to the district court of Fürth and the remaining communities of the district court district of Reichelsheim im Odenwald to the district court of Michelstadt .

Courthouse

The district court building at Bismarckstrasse 43 was inaugurated in 1902 and today serves as the town hall. The complex building in late historicist style, which follows the curved course of the street , with echoes of Darmstadt Art Nouveau is a listed building.
