As a hamlet, Kilsbach is part of the Affhöllerbach district and, together with Affhöllerbach, forms a district of the Brensbach community in the Odenwaldkreis in southern Hesse . The existence of the hamlet is documented under the spelling Kilspach since 1605.
Geographical location
Kilsbach is located north of Affhöllerbach in the headwaters of the Kilsbach , a tributary of the Gersprenz . The hamlet consists of four large farmsteads, which are located in the midst of extensive meadows. Three of the courtyards are in a loose group, a fourth is raised a little to one side.
Culture
The four historic, closed four-sided courtyards in Kilsbach are listed as a historical monument . Despite the sometimes different construction times of the individual buildings, this ensemble represents an extraordinarily rare example of a large-scale farming settlement of the 19th century that blends in harmoniously with the surrounding agricultural areas and has been preserved in its almost original form.
Transport and infrastructure
Kilsbach is only accessible to regional traffic via a local road. This leads from Affhöllerbach in the south through the hamlet to the K 88 district road in the north, via which there is a connection to the core community of Brensbach. The place can only be reached by public transport (on working days) from Brensbach with an on- call bus .
