history

The existence of the place is documented under the name Walbach since 1426. Wallbach belonged to the district court and the parish of Kirchbrombach as part of the Breuberg rule . In 1806 the place came with the county of Erbach to the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

During the regional reform in Hesse , Wallbach was incorporated into the municipality of Brensbach by law on August 1, 1972 at the same time as the municipalities of Nieder-Kainsbach , Höllerbach , and Wersau . According to the main statute, a local district with a local advisory council and local councilor was set up for Wallbach in accordance with the Hessian municipal code .

Culture and sights

The former school and town hall in Wallbach was built in a location-defining location in a village-historic style in 1899, borrowing from the urban villa architecture. This picturesque building was donated by the Gehring family who emigrated to Cleveland (USA) and, like three other properties in the village, is a listed building.
