Wurzelbach is a hamlet in the district Beedenkirchen the community Lautertal (Odenwald) in the Bergstraße district in Hesse .

Geographical location

Wurzelbach is located on the northern edge of the Beedenkirchen district and north of the Lautertal capital Reichenbach in the Vorderen Odenwald on a source arm of the Wurzelbach , which flows into the Modau at Hoxhohl . The hamlet has grown together with the neighboring Schmal-Beerbach to the north .

The closest localities are Beedenkirchen in the south, Staffel in the west , Schmal-Beerbach in the north, Allertshofen in the northeast and Brandau in the southeast .

history

The spelling Wortelnbach has been documented since 1450.

In the run-up to the regional reform in Hesse , Wurzelbach and Beedenkirchen became part of the Lautertal community on December 31, 1971. Since then, Wurzelbach has belonged to the Beedenkirchen district and to the local advisory board and mayor there .

traffic

Wurzelbach is opened up for inter- regional traffic by two state roads that unite in the Wurzelbach thoroughfare. The L 3098 creates a connection to the main town Reichenbach in the Lauter valley and from there to the federal road 47 known as Nibelungenstrasse . In the other direction it continues via Ober-Beerbach to Darmstadt . The L 3101 finally comes from Balkhausen via Staffel and continues via Allertshofen to Hoxhohl .
