Waldhausen is a district of Buchen (Odenwald) in the Neckar-Odenwald district in Baden-Württemberg .

history

In 1306 the place appears for the first time as "Husen". In the will of Weiprecht Rüdt (Rude) of the elder von Bödigheim and in the associated contract of division of his four sons, the family is mentioned in possession of goods in Husen.

In 1395 the Amorbach monastery in Waldhausen ("Husen") owned. During this time half of the court over the village also belonged to the Amorbach monastery, which also owned the large and small tithe . In 1485 the Rüdt von Collenberg , based in the neighboring municipality of Bödigheim, became village lords in Waldhausen. In the 17th century, Kurmainz also had property rights and sovereign rights here.

During the Napoleonic period, Waldhausen came to the Principality of Leiningen (residence in Amorbach ) in 1803 and then to the Grand Duchy of Baden in 1806 due to the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss and the subsequent secularization of the spiritual territories and manors (dissolution of the Electoral Palatinate , Kurmainz) .

1935–1945 Einbach was incorporated into Waldhausen.

On December 31, 1973, Waldhausen was incorporated into Buchen.

Geographical location

Waldhausen is located on the south-eastern border of the Odenwald directly on the B27 between Mosbach and Buchen (Odenwald). Here the ground changes from the red sandstone (Odenwald) to shell limestone (building land).

Waldhausen is surrounded by the blade forest in the south and the gray forest in the north. Waldhausen also borders the neighboring communities of Limbach (Baden) and Seckach .

The Glashof homestead, which is known for its mares and the mare's milk from Zollmann Stutenmilch GmbH based in Mülben , also belongs to the Waldhausen district .
