Untereudorf is a former municipality and now a district of Buchen (Odenwald) in the Neckar-Odenwald district in Baden-Württemberg .
Geographical location
Untereudorf is an elongated forest hoof village in the Odenwald , about 3.5 kilometers west of the core town of Buchen on the left, east-exposed valley slope of the Krebsbächle. The Untereudorfer Mühle house, a little downhill on the Steinbächle, belongs to the district .
history
Since Oberneudorf was named as such ( Nova villa superior ) in 1251 , it can be concluded that Unterneudorf also already existed at this point in time. The place was first mentioned in 1395 as Untersteudorf. The place was previously owned by the von Dürn gentlemen , then the von Erbach taverns . In 1281 they sold their rights to the Amorbach monastery , which was the sole lord of the village. Before Untereudorf came to the Principality of Leiningen in the course of secularization in 1803 , Kurmainz was sovereign. In 1806 the place became part of the Grand Duchy of Baden .
From 1935 to 1945, Unterneudorf was incorporated into Hollerbach . On December 1, 1972, it was incorporated into Buchen.
As a branch of the parish of Buchen, Unterneudorf received its own chapel in 1699.
coat of arms
The coat of arms represents a quartered shield. In this shield there is a golden crown, two red-tongued silver eagles and a blue lily. The crown and lily stand for the Amorbach monastery, the eagle for the Prince of Leiningen.
