Rinscheim is a district of Buchen (Odenwald) in the Neckar-Odenwald district ( Baden-Württemberg ).
Geographical location
The clustered village of Rinschheim is located in building land , about five kilometers east of the core town of Buchen in the upper Rinschbach valley.
history
Individual finds from the Bronze Age already show the early presence of people. Immediately to the east of today's Rinschheim ran the Upper Germanic-Raetian Limes , from which remains of Roman guard posts in the vicinity and the small fort Rinschheim, which is no longer visible above ground, testify to the northeastern local area.
The first documentary mention as Rinzesheim in the Lorsch Codex comes from 788 from a donation to the Lorsch Monastery . The local rule was later with the Lords of Dürn , from 1322 half with the Rüdt von Collenberg and at the Amorbach monastery , from 1485/86 with the Amorbach monastery with state rule with the Electorate of Mainz .
In 1803 Rinschheim came to the Principality of Leiningen as part of secularization and in 1806 to the Grand Duchy of Baden . On October 1, 1974, it was incorporated into Buchen.
In church terms, the predominantly Catholic Rinschheim was a branch of the parish of Götzingen. In 1805 the branch church of St. Hippolyt and Kassian was rebuilt as a small hall with an onion-crowned roof turret.
On October 1, 1974, the city of Buchen was combined with Götzingen, Hainstadt, Hettigenbeuren and Hettingen to form today's city of Buchen. Rinschheim joined them on the same day.
coat of arms
In a split shield above three (2: 1) blue lilies in silver, below in blue a red-armored, red-tongued silver eagle. - The lilies are reminiscent of the Amorbach monastery, the eagle of the princes of Leiningen.
Agriculture
Rinschheim is an agricultural place, but now without full-time farmers. As a place in the building land, Rinschheim is in the “home of the green core ”, which is harvested half-ripe as spelled and then artificially dried (kilned). A restored old green spelled kiln is a reminder of rural history.
