The Eastern Limes Trail is a 44.3 km long hiking trail from Miltenberg in the Bavarian administrative district of Lower Franconia to Osterburken in the Neckar-Odenwald district of Baden-Württemberg , which follows the course of the Rhaetian Limes .

Route

The path begins in Miltenberg at the town hall. It leads via Wenschdorf - Reinhardsachsen - Neusaß - Walldürn - Hönehaus small fort - Rinschheim - Götzingen - Bofsheim to the Osterburken fort .

Marking and path maintenance

Waymark is a stylized Roman watchtower in black color with a red bar.

The Odenwald Club is responsible for maintaining the path and the markings . The path is the association's main hiking trail 37.

Stages

A possible division of stages:

  • Stage 1: Miltenberg - Walldürn (20.5 km)
  • Stage 2: Walldürn - Osterburken (23.4 km)

Connection to other Limes routes

The path is one of the Limes hiking trails that open up the Upper Germanic-Rhaetian Limes to hikers in full. The Eastern Limes Trail is a section of the Limes Trail of the Swabian Alb Association , which in turn is part of the German Limes Trail .
