The Landesvermessungsamt Baden-Wuerttemberg was until 31 December 2008 Upper State Authority for public tasks of the official surveying and mapping . In particular, it was responsible for land surveying , real estate cadastre and basic geographic information in the state of Baden-Württemberg . On January 1, 2009 it was merged with the State Office for Land Reorganization to form the State Office for Geoinformation and Rural Development (LGL).
Surveying administration in Baden-Württemberg
The highest state authority of the surveying administration was the Ministry for Rural Areas and Consumer Protection of Baden-Württemberg , which is responsible for the technical supervision of the state survey office of Baden-Württemberg. The State Surveying Office itself, as the upper state authority, is organized as a state company in accordance with Section 26 LHO and has 463 employees. In addition to its own tasks, the Land Surveying Office oversees the lower surveying authorities and land consolidation authorities in the districts and cities as well as the 16 urban surveying offices and the publicly appointed surveyors.
organization
The state surveying office consisted of the headquarters in Stuttgart (Büchsenstrasse 54, 70174 Stuttgart) with 323 employees and the geodesy department in Karlsruhe (Kapellenstrasse 17, 76131 Karlsruhe) with 140 employees.
The main tasks of the land survey office were:
- the provision of geospatial base data
- the national survey
- the real estate cadastre with its various sub-areas
Another task was the central responsibility for the development, introduction and use of information and communication technology for the area of the entire surveying administration and for the training and further education of the young professionals.
The legal basis for the work was the Land Surveying Act for Baden-Württemberg of July 1, 2004.
Topography product area
In the Topography business area, the earth's surface, including its use and function, was recorded in three dimensions. The landscape data was kept in ATKIS® , the official topographic-cartographic information system, as digital landscape models ( DLM), digital orthophotos (DOP) and digital terrain models (DGM).
As part of the Lake Constance geodata pool project, the surveying administrations of the four countries bordering Lake Constance are working together to set up a Lake Constance geodata pool.
Cartography product area
In the field of cartography, the current landscape data obtained was processed cartographically and managed as official digital topographic maps (DTK). The following maps have been published:
- 282 sheets of TK 25, 75 sheets of TK50 and 20 sheets of TK100
- 82 leisure, hiking, biking and district maps
- Publication of Top25 / 50 and leisure CDROM / DVD
- 620,000 card prints as copies of TK and card products derived from it
- 223,000 map prints, scan and plot jobs as part of cartographic commissioned work
Geodesy product area
The geodesy product area operated the basic surveying. The area monitors the quality of the control point fields as the basis for the national survey. These consist of 184 geodetic basic network points, 60,000 fixed position points, 60,000 fixed height points and 4,000 gravity fixed points.
This also included the operation of the satellite positioning service SAPOS® for the German national survey.
Property cadastre product area
The management of the real estate cadastre was the responsibility of the lower authorities. The State Office only supervised this and ensures uniform national procedures.
history
In 1818 the "Cadastral Commission" was founded in the Kingdom of Württemberg with the task of coherent land surveying . Organizationally, the commission was subordinate to the Ministry of Finance. In 1820 it became the “ Statistical Topographical Bureau ”. In the People's State of Württemberg during the Weimar Republic , the new State Statistical Office took over its functions.
In 1855 the "Direction for Cadastral Surveying" was set up in Baden. From 1881 the cadastral work in Baden was carried out by the "Technical Bureau for Cadastral Surveying and Field Clearance". The Land Survey Office was founded on February 9, 1953, and on March 1, 1996, together with the 35 state land surveying offices, it was converted into a state company.
