The state enterprise Geobasisinformation und Vermessung Sachsen (GeoSN) was set up in 2008 as the successor to the State Surveying Office Saxony. The state enterprise is based in Dresden on Olbrichtplatz in the immediate vicinity of the Military History Museum .

The GeoSN is the upper state authority in the Saxon surveying administration. He is responsible for land surveying and real estate cadastre in the Free State of Saxony . He also oversees the 13 lower surveying authorities (counties and independent cities) and the publicly appointed surveyors.

Annette Rothenberger-Temme has been managing director of GeoSN since February 2019.

Tasks of the GeoSN

  • Establishing the geodetic spatial reference by setting up, verifying and maintaining the spatial reference, height and gravity fixed point fields and operating the satellite positioning service
  • Provision of the official topographic-cartographic information system (digital landscape model, digital terrain model, digital orthophotos)
  • Editing and issuing of the official topographical national maps and special maps
  • Establishment, marking and creation of the documentation of the state and state borders
  • Management of the aerial photo documentation
  • Control of the implementation of obligations of the Free State of Saxony including its municipalities within the framework of Directive 2007/2 / EC (INSPIRE Directive) and the Saxon Geodata Infrastructure Act (SächsGDIG)
  • Support of the Saxon State Ministry of the Interior in coordinating the operation of the spatial data infrastructure in Saxony
  • Provision, maintenance and further development of the e-government basic component geodata (GeoBAK), including the geoportal Sachsenatlas (www.geoportal.sachsen.de)
  • Office of the Upper Expert Committee for Property Values ​​in the Free State of Saxony according to Section 86 (1) Saxon Building Regulations
  • Provision of information from the data stocks of the state survey and the real estate cadastre as well as from the standard land value information system of the Free State of Saxony
