Economy and Infrastructure

Nieder-Beerbach is more rural due to its location on the edge of the Odenwald . Due to the fact that most of the residents work in the nearby Rhine-Main area , most of the business is done there. Nieder-Beerbach's infrastructure also suffers from this . However, a small industrial area is beginning to establish itself on the northern outskirts. Above all, companies from the trade and IT sector are located here. Since the end of 2017, in addition to a drinks market and a stationery shop, a baker's shop has been added again, which has been very well received by the residents and thus contributes to strengthening the retail trade within the village. Compared to the surrounding villages, Nieder-Beerbach is economically well positioned.

Another important company for Nieder-Beerbach is the quarry of the Odenwälder Hartstein-Industrie (OHI) in the east . OHI was acquired in 1957 by the regional competitor, Mitteldeutsche Hartstein-Industrie AG (MHI), which still operates the quarry today. The Nieder-Beerbach quarry is the only place in Germany where silver is still mined. Gabbro is also extracted in this quarry and in another, only a few hundred meters away, in Waschenbach .
