Trautheim is a part of the municipality of Mühltal in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district in southern Hesse . Trautheim forms a common district with the Nieder-Ramstadt district .

Geographical location

Trautheim is located in the northern Odenwald in the granite area of the Bergstrasse-Odenwald Geo-Nature Park . The landscape corresponds to the typical hilly landscape of the Vorderen Odenwald .

The nucleus of the Trautheim settlement lies in the northwest of the Nieder-Ramstadt district on the other side of the Stettbach and in front of the approximately two-kilometer-wide forest belt that lies between Nieder-Ramstadt and neighboring Darmstadt . By 1940, the settlement had essentially reached its present size and since then extends two kilometers from the forest road in the north near Traisa to the road Am Klingenteich in the south with a width of two to four hundred meters.

The district identified in the main statute , which begins in the east on Stettbach and on the boundary of Traisa, extends in the west essentially to Papiermüllerweg and in the south to the An der Flachsröhe industrial park . In the north, the district extends to the city limits of Darmstadt. It includes the forest areas north of the B 449 and south of it the wooded Kirchberg ( 280.9  m above sea level ), as far as it lies east of the Steinschneise and Kirchschneise . According to the officially described boundary, the area for the district is around 1.3 square kilometers.

history

In 1871 the first houses were built on the edge of the forest near the forester's house Emmelinenhütte , Papiermüllerweg 1. In 1871 the Darmstadt banker Karl Heinrich Bopp built a country house, in 1891 today's Floethsche House followed and in 1896 the Villa Trautheim , both built by Rudolf Vollrath. He had built the second house as a vegetarian dining house with guest rooms. He took the name from that of his second oldest son Ehregott Trautheim . Since 1903 the restaurant has been called Kurhaus Trautheim , and Trautheim has been the name of the villa colony that was being created here since 1906.

With the creation of the municipality of Mühltal as part of the regional reform in Hesse on January 1, 1977, the Trautheim settlement as well as the formerly independent municipalities of Nieder-Ramstadt , Traisa , Nieder-Beerbach and Frankenhausen and the then Nieder-Ramstädter district of Waschenbach became a separate local district formed with the local advisory council and the mayor according to the Hessian community code. The seat of the municipal administration was Nieder-Ramstadt.

The 2011 census counted 2118 inhabitants for Trautheim.
