Frankie Sullivan
Frankie Sullivan (born February 1, 1955 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American guitarist and songwriter and the last remaining founding member of the band Survivor .
Life
Sullivan formed the band Survivor with Jim Peterik in the winter of 1977. After some line-up changes, the band achieved an international hit with the title song Eye of the Tiger, produced for the film Rocky III - The Eye of the Tiger, penned by Sullivan and Peterik in 1982. The single was number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for several weeks and also reached the top position in the UK, Ireland, Australia and Germany. For Eye of the Tiger , Sullivan was nominated for an Oscar , a Golden Globe Award and a BAFTA Film Award . Sullivan and Peterik wrote another hit with Burning Heart for Rocky IV - The Fight of the Century .
