Franklyn Seales
Franklyn Seales (born July 15, 1952 in St. Vincent , Caribbean , † May 21, 1990 in Brooklyn , New York , USA ) was an American film and stage actor .
Life
Seales grew up as the brother of six siblings (3 brothers, 3 sisters) on St. Vincent. As a teenager, he enrolled at Juilliard , where he received acting lessons from the renowned film actor John Houseman . Seales then appeared on many regional theater stages in New York City . His most famous theater role, Hamlet , would eventually bring him to Los Angeles .
In 1974 he made his film debut in Edwin Sherin's " King Lear ". In the 31st issue of John Willis' Screen World magazine in 1979, Seales was named one of "Most Promising New Actors of the Year", having appeared in a movie for the first time in " Star Trek: The Movie " that same year . Seales died of complications from AIDS at the age of 37 .
