Franky Oviedo

Franky Oviedo (born September 21, 1973 in Cali ), also listed as Frankie Oviedo in some databases , is a former Colombian soccer player who mainly played in midfield and now runs a soccer school ( Academia de Fútbol Franky Oviedo ) in his hometown of Cali .

career

Franky Oviedo was trained at the Boca Juniors de Cali football school and received his first professional contract in 1993 with the local Sociedad Anónima Deportiva América , where Oviedo was under contract until 2000. With América de Cali Oviedo won the Colombian football championship in the 1996/97 season and the Copa Merconorte two years later .

In the summer of 2000 Oviedo moved to Mexico to the "namesake" Club América , with whom he won the Mexican football championship in 2002 at Torneo Verano . Even when he left Club America four years later, Oviedo initially stayed in Mexico and played for one season each for Puebla FC , CF Pachuca and Club Necaxa over the next three years .

About the Venezuelan club Deportivo Táchira , for which he played in the second half of 2007, Oviedo returned to his homeland, where he again won the Colombian football championship in the Apertura 2008 in the ranks of Boyacá Chicó FC .

Between 1999 and 2005 Oviedo completed a total of 24 international appearances for the Colombian national football team , in which he scored four goals.
