František Dedrle

František Josef Dedrle, around 1938

František Dedrle (born October 13, 1878 in Tišnov , † May 28, 1957 in Brno ) was a Czech chess composer and chess player.

Dedrle worked as a teacher in various schools in Brno and was most recently headmaster.

František Dedrle was an important endgame theorist . In 1919 he published a paper on the theory of the critical fields. His systematic investigations of the endgame checkers against two bishops and checkers against two jumpers are known.

Dedrle mainly composed three-moves and chess studies .
