Franz-Josef Leikop

Franz-Josef Leikop (born June 22, 1942 in Paderborn ) is a German CDU politician . He was initially an honorary and then a full-time district administrator of the Hochsauerlandkreis .

Life and work

Leikop attended elementary school and then completed an agricultural apprenticeship. Then he received the secondary school leaving certificate and attended engineering school. After graduating as a graduate engineer , he worked for a settlement company from 1966 to 1967. In 1967 Leikop studied education, economics and politics in Dortmund, Cologne and Paderborn. Until his election as full-time district administrator in 1995, he worked as a vocational school teacher. Leikop lives in Brilon .

Political career

Leikop has been a member of the CDU since 1968. He was initially involved in the Junge Union , where he was district chairman, district chairman and member of the state board for several years. From 1975 to 1992 he was the local club chairman of the CDU local branch in Brilon and a member of the city council of Brilon, from 1979 to 1984 deputy mayor. In 1975 Leikop was elected to the district assembly of the Hochsauerlandkreis and from 1984 to 1991 chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. On December 10, 1991 he became an honorary district administrator and with the municipal reform in North Rhine-Westphalia on May 1, 1995, he became a full-time district administrator. From November 1999 to September 2002 Franz-Josef Leikop was President of the District Association of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was also active in Berlin from December 2000 to November 2003 as Vice President of the German District Association . In 2005, Leikop resigned as district administrator for reasons of age. In gratitude for his special services, the district council awarded him the title of Honorary District Administrator of the Hochsauerlandkreis and awarded him the Ring of Honor on February 18, 2005.
