Berthold Rüth (born March 28, 1958 in Hobbach , Markt Eschau , Miltenberg district ) is a German politician ( CSU ) and has been a member of the Bavarian State Parliament since October 6, 2003 .

Life

After studying business administration and graduating with a degree in business administration , he worked as an assistant to the management in two medium-sized companies. In 1985 he finally became department head at the then chemical company Acordis in the ICO in Obernburg am Main . He held this position until he joined the state parliament in 2003.

Rüth was also secretary in the working groups school-economy and in the information forum of the regional economy. He was also a member of the public relations working group of the Aschaffenburg Chamber of Commerce and the public relations working group of the chemical industry in Bavaria.

Berthold Rüth is married and has two sons.

Political career

Rüth began his political career in 1982 as chairman of the Junge Union Eschau. He held this post until 1990. As early as 1984 he became district chairman of the JU and held this office until 1994. In 1988 the position as deputy chairman of the JU in the district of Lower Franconia was added. He held this office until 1992.

In 1990, Rüth moved into the local council of his home town of Eschau and the district council of the Miltenberg district . To this day he is a member of both bodies. Since May 2020 he has been a member of the hospital advisory board of the Helios Kliniken Miltenberg-Erlenbach.

From 1995 to 1997 he was chairman of the CSU local association in Eschau. From 1995 to 2019 Rüth was CSU district chairman in Miltenberg. Also since 1995 he has been a member of the CSU district committee for Lower Franconia.

In 2003, Rüth was elected to the Bavarian State Parliament by direct mandate and 59.9% of the first votes . Since then he has represented the Miltenberg constituency ( constituency of Lower Franconia ). In 2008 he was re-elected with 45.3% and 2013 with 46.3% of the first votes. Rüth was also able to defend his direct mandate in the state elections in 2018 .

In the Bavarian State Parliament he was a member of the committee for petitions and complaints, the committee for education and culture (until 2015 and from 2018) and from 2015 to 2018 he was in the committee for questions of the public service. From 2013 to 2015 he was also the state chairman of the CSU working group on school, education and sport. In 2012 he was elected chairman of the Bavarian State Sports Advisory Board and sports policy spokesman for the CSU state parliamentary group.

Since 2013 he has been a member of the board of the CSU parliamentary group. Rüth is also a member of the media council of the Bavarian State Office for New Media and, since May 2017, chairman of the digital committee of the Bavarian State Office for New Media , of which he was active as deputy chairman for a long time.

On July 1, 2014, Rüth was elected chairman of the Enquête Commission in the Bavarian State Parliament "Equal living conditions in all of Bavaria", whose task it was to show how a high standard of living and working in all parts of Bavaria and for all its residents is equally maintained and can be further developed. The Commission presented its final report on 30 January 2018.

On May 23, 2004 and again on February 12, 2017, Berthold Rüth was a member of the Federal Assembly (Germany) .

Rüth is currently a member of the Committee for Education and Culture and a member of the Committee for Submissions and Complaints in the Bavarian State Parliament.

Volunteering

On March 11, 2012, Berthold Rüth was elected President of the Untermain Music Association. Rüth is also a board member of the Miltenberg-Obernburg district association of the Bavarian Red Cross .
