Franz Abromeit

Franz Abromeit (* August 8, 1907 in Tilsit ; † June 30, 1964 ) was a German SS leader and Jewish advisor in the Eichmann department of the Reich Main Security Office (RSHA).

biography

Abromeit joined the NSDAP ( membership number 329.305) and SS (SS number 272.353) in the 1930s . In 1937 he was SS- Untersturmführer , 1938 SS- Obersturmführer and 1940 SS- Hauptsturmführer . From 1939 to 1941 he was employed as head of the SD special unit for the evacuation of Poles and Jews - that is, the forced resettlement - from Danzig and West Prussia .

From 1942 he became Jewish adviser for Croatia (NDH) - "Eichmann's executioner in Croatia" in the Jewish department (IVB4) of the RSHA with SS-Obersturmbannführer Adolf Eichmann . 5,500 Jews were deported and mostly murdered.
