Franz Albert Aepinus (born November 15, 1673 in Wanzka , † February 14, 1750 in Rostock ) was a German Protestant theologian , writer and philosopher .

Life

Franz Albert Aepinus studied at the University of Rostock and at the University of Jena ; In 1696 he became a master of philosophy. In 1709 he took over the office of Rector of the Ratzeburg Cathedral School , and in the following year he received his doctorate in Protestant theology . In 1712 he became an associate professor of logic in Rostock. His appointment to the theological faculty as a full professor took place in 1712. In 1723 Franz Albert Aepinus took over higher offices in the church, for example that of a consistorial councilor and that of general superintendent , which he held until his death. One of Aepinus' sons was the Rostock philosopher and university professor Angelius Johann Daniel Aepinus , another, Franz Ulrich Theodor Aepinus , was known as an astronomer, mathematician, physicist and natural philosopher.

In 1724 Franz Albert Aepinus was the 605th rector of the University of Rostock .
