Franz Allert

Franz Allert (* 1955 ) is a German dance sport official. From 2005 to 2014 he was President of the German Dance Sports Association (DTV) and has been Honorary President of the Association since 2014. In his main job he has been President of the State Office for Health and Social Affairs Berlin since 2003 with a small interruption .

education and profession

Allert has been in the administration of the State of Berlin since 1974. He studied at the University of Applied Sciences for Administration and the Administration of Justice and the Administration Academy in Berlin . After working in the Senate Administration for Economics and in the former State Office for Occupational Safety and Health, the graduate cameraman had gained over 15 years of experience in various areas of social administration, including in the area of ​​accommodating refugees in the then State Office for Central Social Tasks, in fundamental matters of the Social assistance, with the introduction of ICT technology in the district social welfare offices and with the management of the section “Remuneration for social services”.

After that Allert was six years in the Senate Department for Education, Youth and Sports as household s referent active, responsible for all human resources and finances and eventually also acting head of the department "Central Service".

Since 2003 he has been President of the State Office for Health and Social Affairs Berlin. His office as president also includes chairing the board of trustees of the “Work for the Disabled” Foundation and serving as the board of the “Invalidenhaus Foundation”.

On December 9, 2015, in view of the massive personal criticism of his person, Allert asked the Berlin Senator for Social Affairs Mario Czaja (CDU) to release him from his duties with immediate effect. Until he took over the management of the State Office for Health and Social Affairs again in 2017 , he was seconded to the Senate Department for Health to perform a special task .

Dance sport

He held his first honorary posts from 1982 in the Ahorn Club TSA in the Berlin Police Sports Association and in the Berlin State Dance Association , of which he was President from 1988 to 1992 and from 1996 to 2006. Among other things, he was in charge of organizing several world championships in Berlin. Since 2006 he has been honorary president of LTV Berlin. He was a member of the spokesperson group for the non-Olympic sports associations in the DOSB and took on various tasks in national and international sport.

Franz Allert is married and has a grown daughter.
