Franz Arnold (Author)

Franz Arnold (born April 23, 1878 in Znin near Bromberg ; died September 29, 1960 in London ) was a German playwright .

Life

Arnold began his career as a theater actor at the age of 19 in 1897 in Eberswalde . In 1907 he was engaged as a comedian at the Friedrich-Wilhelmstädtisches Theater in Berlin . In 1909 he worked at the comedy theater . There he got to know Ernst Bach , with whom he became known as part of the author duo Arnold and Bach . Under Bach's direction and with him, he played as an actor in the jointly written Schwänken . In 1917/18 the two appeared in an army theater. After 1920 Arnold staged the joint plays in Berlin and Bach in Munich .

In Berlin he became a member of the Freemason Lodge Victoria ; In 1933 he emigrated to England. He died there in 1960.
