Arnold and Bach

Arnold and Bach called themselves the German actor , comedian and playwrights Franz Arnold and Ernst Bach .

Both met between 1907 and 1909 at the Friedrich-Wilhelmstädtisches Theater in Berlin . Since then, the comedian Arnold and the director and playwright Bach have written numerous tales and comedies , all of which were staged by Bach himself. In addition, both always appeared together in specially written works and won the hearts of the audience.

After the First World War , Bach went to the Volkstheater in Munich as director . Arnold continued to take care of the marketing of the joint works at various Berlin theaters. The creative developments of the pieces took place either in Garmisch or at Lake Starnberg . The collaboration ended with Bach's death in 1929.

Works

The common legacy is one of the classics of the tabloid theater and comedy houses. Especially the evergreens The Spanish Fly , The True Jacob and The Floating Jungfrau can regularly be found on the repertoire of German-speaking stages. Numerous dialect versions have become known to a broad audience through television broadcasts from the Millowitsch and Ohnsorg theaters .
