Franz Birkfellner (born November 20, 1976 in St. Pölten ) is an Austrian judoka .

biography

Franz Birkfellner began his career at the Innsbruck Judo Center. After his second place at the Austrian championships in 1997, he won his first title in the general class in 1998. In 2000 he celebrated his greatest success with third place at the European Championships and participation in the Olympic Games in Sydney . In 2007 he finished seventh, his best placement at the World Championships in Rio de Janeiro . In the meantime he has won the Austrian championship eight times and achieved four victories in world cup tournaments.
