Franz Carl Egloff (born February 8, 1645 in Baden AG ; † February 28, 1725 there ) was a Swiss councilor , city ​​governor and subordinate .

Life

Franz Carl Egloff (of Statthof) was the son of Hans Ludwig Egloff (of Statthof; Stiftsprocurator and Schulherr; 1604-1671) and the Margarita Brunner (1615-1685). In 1669 he married Anna Katharina Schnorff (born 1652), who died in 1688 giving birth to her 13th child (Anna Katharina Theresia, who later became a nun in Hermetschwil ). One of her sons was Franz Carl Anton Egloff , who became a doctor and professor at the University of Innsbruck ; another son (Johann Ludwig; 1672–1756) was Schultheiss .

Services

Egloff was alderman, city governor and subordinate. He was also the owner and landlord of the internationally known bathing and spa inn Zum Stadthof (old spelling Staadhof ) in Baden (to which the name affix of Statthof refers), which his father acquired in 1640 and which was acquired for many generations until it was resold in 1872 , remained in family ownership.
