Franz Chalaupka
Franz Chalaupka (* 1856 in Semlin ; † June 6, 1921 in Graz ) was an Austrian painter and officer .
Life
Chalaupka was a lieutenant colonel in the Austro-Hungarian army when he retired. From then on he devoted himself entirely to art, although art-historical research is still unknown whether he acquired this knowledge academically or autodidactically . In 1901 Chalaupka was named as a member of the Styrian Association of Fine Artists. He worked in Graz until the end of his life, his preferred motifs were from the field of marine painting .
