Franz Alois Demetz "Pallua" (born January 24, 1930 in St. Christina in Gröden ) is a Ladin politician of the South Tyrolean People's Party .

biography

Demetz worked professionally as a hotelier in Soplajes, a district of St. Christina.

From 1968 to 1973 and, after he had moved up for Maria Bertolini , from 1974 to 1978 he was a member of the South Tyrolean state parliament and thus also the regional council of Trentino-South Tyrol . In the latter, he served as presidential secretary during his two terms in office. On May 25, 1977 he was appointed the first president of the Istitut Ladin "Micurà de Rü" .

Demetz was mayor of his home municipality from 1985 to 1995. From 1990 to 1995 he also worked on the administrative board of the South Tyrolean Association of Municipalities. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Südtiroler Sparkasse Foundation .
