Franz Donat Stehmann

Franz Donat Stehmann (born May 23, 1890 or 1891 in Ruhla ; † July 16, 1960 in Santo Ângelo ) was a German writer .

The son of a meerschaum pipe manufacturer completed an apprenticeship as a baker in Mühlhausen . At the age of 16 he went to sea as a cabin boy. He settled in Brazil and roamed the country until 1914. From 1921 he lived as a baker in Santo Ângelo. His travel experiences formed the basis of three books which he published under the pseudonym Franz Donat and which were published several times. From 1931 he owned a bakery and a farm.
