Franz Droege

Franz Droege (also Dröge ) (born January 3, 1863 in Balve , † February 18, 1930 in Wiesbaden ) was a German administrative officer.

Life

The father was the judiciary, lawyer and notary Albrecht Dröge in Arnsberg . Franz Droege studied law . In 1883 he passed the examination for trainee lawyer and in 1890 the examination for government assessor. He did his military service as a one year old volunteer with the 8th Hussar Regiment .

After his time as a government assessor at the Arnsberg government , he moved a short time later to the Bromberg government and returned to the Arnsberg government in 1893. In 1896 he was entrusted with the administration of the Arnsberg district office . In 1897 he was finally appointed district administrator in Arnsberg.

The construction of the district house in Arnsberg fell during his time as district administrator. Among other things, he promoted the electrification of the district by founding a district power station in 1910. The plant later became part of VEW, today RWE .

Droege was also deputy chairman of the Agricultural Society for the Arnsberg district, commissioner for the construction of a central water pipe for the Haarstrang area and member of the Westphalian antiquity association .

Droege joined the government in Wiesbaden in 1913 as a councilor . He subsequently rose to the position of senior government councilor and deputy district president.

He was also a member of the Westphalian Provincial Parliament for the constituency of Arnsberg from 1899 to 1916 . Droege belonged to the free conservative party .
