Franz Fortmann

Franz Fortmann (born January 23, 1877 in Vechta ; † 1935 ) was a German lawyer and politician of the Center Party .

Live and act

Fortmann attended high school in Vechta. He then studied law in Munich , Berlin , Freiburg and Kiel . He received his doctorate as Dr. jur. In 1903 he became an editor at the Centrum Parlament Corrspondenz (CPC). In 1912 Fortmann took over the political and business management of this magazine. He also became a board member of various professional organizations.

In the Reichstag elections of June 1920, Fortmann was elected to the first Reichstag of the Weimar Republic , to which he was a member until the election in May 1924 , on the centre's proposal for a Reich election .

In 1929 Fortmann became head of the "Reich Committee for the German Referendum".

In addition, Fortmann wrote numerous political and economic articles in daily newspapers and magazines.
