Franz Fuchs (politician, 1924)
Franz Fuchs (born January 19, 1924 in Würzburg ; † May 6, 1995 ) was a German master painter, politician and a member of the Bavarian Senate from 1978 to 1995 .
Life
Fuchs attended elementary school and secondary school in Würzburg and finished his school career with a secondary school leaving certificate. In 1939 he began an apprenticeship as a painter in his parents' business. In 1942 he was drafted into military service. After the end of the war he returned to the painting business, which he took over in 1961 and in which he successfully passed his master craftsman's examination in 1952. From 1965 to 1974 he was head master of the Würzburg painters' guild. He was chairman of the work group in the main association of the German painting trade , second chairman of the culture committee in the central association of the German craft in Bonn and board member in the main association and advisory board in the national guild association of the painting trade. In 1967 he became a board member ofElected Chamber of Crafts for Lower Franconia in Würzburg, from 1974 to 1994 he was its president, after leaving office he was honorary president.
