Franz Güntner

Franz Xaver Güntner (born December 30, 1812 in Neulosimthal , † February 5, 1887 in Prague ) was an Austrian physician.

Career

Gabriel Güntner O.Präm., Professor of theology, dedication of his book Introductio in sacros Novi Testamenti libros (1863) to his brothers, the medical professors Franz and Wenzel Güntner "as a sign of brotherly love that has not become obsolete"

Güntner studied medicine in Prague. In 1849 he was a private lecturer in forensic medicine and in 1851 a private lecturer at the law school. From 1854 to 1884 he was professor of forensic medicine, professor of surgery and ophthalmology. In 1865 he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Vienna.

He was married to Countess Wilhelmine Stubick von Königstein
