Franz Gady

Franz Gady Jr. (* October 31, 1937 ; † July 10, 2015 ) was an Austrian entrepreneur, President of the Styrian Chamber of Commerce and Honorary President of the Graz football club SK Sturm Graz .

Life

As an entrepreneur

Franz Gady Jr., born in 1937. In 1958, together with his younger brother Gerhard, took over Franz Gady GmbH , his father's company for agricultural machinery and bicycle trading. He pushed the vehicle trade and service and gradually expanded the company founded in 1936.

After working as section chairman of the trade group , he was president of the Styrian Chamber of Commerce from April 1990 to June 1996 .

The last way of the deceased Kommerzialrat led from the headquarters of the corporate group to the festive farewell in the parish church of Lebring-St. Margarethen and was accompanied by a long funeral procession. In addition to family members, employees, friends and other companions of clubs and corporations, numerous celebrities also took part in the procession, including ORF reporter Robert Seeger , ex-soccer player Andy Pichler and former storm presidents such as Charly Temmel .

As a football official

In addition to his work in the family business, Gady also worked for the Graz soccer club SK Sturm Graz , initially as Vice President between 1972 and 1976. After the sudden death of his friend Hans Gert , who brought Gady to the Sturm board, he took over the post of President of SK Sturm from 1976 to 1983 from Gert. In October 1983, when he was replaced by Helmut Braunegger, he was appointed honorary president of the SK Sturm for life. He was on the club's board of directors until his death. During his presidency, he signed the (then sensational) main sponsorship contract with Raiffeisen-Landesbank Steiermark . In 1982 he also managed to return from the Liebenau stadium to the venerable Gruabn .
