Franz Gary

Franz Rudolf Gary (* 1932 in Linz ; † 2003 ) was an Austrian actor. Most recently he lived in Salzburg and Munich .

Life

Gary was born in Linz and entered drama school before graduating from high school . His career began at the Linz State Theater. He then worked in Cologne , Frankfurt am Main , Vienna (Josefstadt), Bochum and Berlin . At the same time he worked for film and television.

He played his most popular role in the early 1970s in the television series The Adventures of the Good Soldier Schwejk at the side of Fritz Muliar : There he portrayed Voditschka, the friend of Schweik with whom he met "after the war at six" Prague inn "Kelch" would hit.

His last major role was the Russian Mikka in the film The train of Damiano Damiani . In the latter part of his life, Gary was primarily interested in reading.
