Franz Glöckl (born May 20, 1884 in Karlstein , † on the night of July 27 to 28, 1943 in Hamburg ) was a German trade unionist .

Born in Upper Palatinate, Glöck, whose father ran an inn, moved to Hamburg in 1907. At first he worked as a privately employed chauffeur. Then he drove cabs for the Hamburger Elektro-Droschken-Automobil GmbH (HEDAG). He joined the German Transport Workers Association (DTV) and became a member of the SPD. On behalf of the traffic workers section of the DTV, he took part in the Hamburg trade union cartel in 1912. He also took part in a commission of the motor vehicle drivers in the DTV, which dealt with complaints about "unpleasant conditions".

In May 1912 the HEDAG cab drivers went on strike. You lamented "nonsensical chord frenzy". Glöckl helped lead the strike and was able to negotiate a collective agreement. During the First World War he did military service as a car driver. When, after the end of the war in 1919, the DTV, the German Motor Vehicle Driver Association and associations of private car drivers merged, Glöckl traveled to Stuttgart . There he took part as a representative of the DTV in a conference that passed a joint Reich leadership.

In July 1921 Glöcks took over the post of section head of the transport workers. Free of charge, he worked for 9,000 employees such as cab and stable drivers, drivers of private and business vehicles, drivers of powerhouses and trams, employees of the Hamburger Hochbahn , captains of the Alster steamers , post, telegraph and route workers and workers in workshops. In January 1923, Glöckl was given a full-time position as section head in the organization that was now called the "German Transport Association". In 1933 Glöckl had to resign from all offices. He went back to Hamburg, where he worked as a driver until the late 1930s. Then he opened his own bakery.
