Franz Gloor

Franz Gloor ( February 29, 1948 - December 13, 2009 ) was a Swiss photographer .

life and work

Franz Gloor completed his training as a photographer with Werner Erne in Aarau and at the photography class at the Zurich School of Applied Arts .

In addition to independent work, including as a photographer of major concert events in Switzerland, Franz Gloor has been working with the Solothurn industrial photographer Roland Schneider since 1972. Together they carried out a large number of industrial reports in Switzerland and abroad. And they documented cultural events and scenes from everyday life mainly in the canton of Solothurn .

Since around 1990 Franz Gloor continued to work independently of Roland Schneider. He created a work with photographic documentation from the cultural and social life of the city of Olten and the canton of Solothurn.

For a long time he was a member of the Photo and Film commission of the Board of Trustees for the Promotion of Culture in the Canton of Solothurn.

Shortly before his death, Franz Gloor donated his photo archive to the Olten Historical Museum .
