Life

Origin and family

Franz Hermann Ludwig von Kerckerinck zu Stapel came from one of the oldest Westphalian hereditary family . His father Johann Ludwig von Kerckerinck zu Stapel (1671–1750), married to Maria Sophia Wilhelmina von Hörde zu Eringerfeld († 1746), played an important role in the Munster hereditary dispute . His tireless efforts ultimately led Emperor Joseph I to decide in favor of the heirs. This cleared the way for Karl Anton and Johann Franz to fill a cathedral canonical .

Act

Through papal approval, Franz Hermann came into the possession of a cathedral priest in Hildesheim in 1734 . Just three years later he gave up and married Maria Sophia Johanna von Rollingen zu Ausenburg. The children Karl Anton (1751–1796, Canon) and Johann Franz (1739–1792, Canon) emerged from the marriage . The revival to the knighthood of Münster took place on January 12, 1740. He was a member of the Landtag , a body made up of the three estates. His task was to regulate the tax system and from 1447 also the feudal system in the bishopric of Münster . Franz Hermann was the regular owner.
