Franz Hienl-Merre
Franz Hienl-Merre (born September 23, 1869 in Mainz , † 1943 in Munich ) was a German painter.
Franz Hienl-Merre studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich with Carl Weinhold (1867–1925) and Adolf Münzer .
After graduating, he traveled to northern France and Italy. He worked in Munich and Garmisch-Partenkirchen . Hienl-Merre exhibited his works in the Munich Glass Palace . He mainly painted landscapes and horses.
He was a member of the Luitpold Group as well as the Reich Association of German Artists .
Franz Hienl-Merre was the husband of the painter Johanna Merre (1867–1947).
