Franz Hildbrand

Franz Hildbrand (born February 2, 1942 in Gampel ; resident in Gampel-Bratsch ) is a Swiss politician ( CSP ).

Career

Franz Hildbrand grew up as the son of the entrepreneur Daniel Hildbrand and Mathilde Wenger in Gampel, where he also attended school. After earning his commercial diploma in Zurich in 1962, he went to Estavayer-le-Lac and Florence to study languages, and in 1964 he took over his father's construction company.

Like his father, he joined the CSP Oberwallis (CSPO) and was elected to the Grand Council as a substitute for the Leuk district in 1969 . One legislature later he was a member of parliament. In the local council elections in 1980 he immediately succeeded in entering the local council and being elected mayor of his home parish. The National Council elections in 1987 were the high point of his political career. Not only did he succeed the resigning National Councilor Herbert Dirren , but for the first time also achieved more party votes with his party than the CVP Oberwallis (CVPO).

His marriage to Edith Seiler in 1970 resulted in three children.
