Franz Huhn (born November 3, 1951 in Sankt Augustin - Niederpleis ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and since 2004 mayor of the city of Siegburg in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

Huhn studied German and economics and worked as a teacher. Until his election as mayor, he was the headmaster of the vocational college in Siegburg . He is married, has two sons and three grandchildren and lives in Kaldauen .

politics

He joined the CDU in 1983 and was elected to the Siegburg City Council for the first time in 1989. From 1994 to 2004 he held the office of Vice Mayor and from 1999 to 2011 he was chairman of the CDU Siegburg. In the 2004 local elections , he was elected as the full-time mayor of Rolf Krieger with 57.1 percent of the vote , and he was re-elected in 2009 (62.9%) and 2014 (58.4%). In November 2018 he announced that he would not run for mayor again in 2020 .
