Franz Josef Bischel

Franz Josef Bischel (born June 18, 1938 in Gau-Algesheim ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending a vocational school, Bischel completed an administration apprenticeship. He passed the second administrative examination and became a graduate in administration. From 1986 to 1990 he was chairman of the Rhineland-Palatinate state association of Komba and then until 1994 state chairman of the German Association of Civil Servants . Bischel is married and has two children.

politics

Bischel joined the CDU in 1957. From 1964 to 1999 he was a member of the district council of the Mainz-Bingen district . From 1974 to 1984 he was mayor of Gau-Algesheim. In the 2009–2014 election period, Franz Josef Bischel is a member of the Gau-Algesheim municipal council. In 1981 he replaced Hanna-Renate Laurien as a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament, to which he was a member until 2006. In the state parliament he was chairman of the data protection commission from 1988 to 1991 and from 1994 to 2001 parliamentary manager of the CDU parliamentary group. In 1999 he was a member of the 11th Federal Assembly .

honors and awards

On December 19, 2013, Bischel was awarded the Cross of Merit First Class of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his many years of service in local and state politics . In 1990 he had already received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon. In 1994 he received the Freiherr vom Stein plaque .
