Franz Joseph Fix

Franz Joseph Fix (born March 3, 1871 in Post-Quatzenheim ; † February 7, 1943 there ) was an Alsatian farmer, mayor and member of the second chamber of the Landtag of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine .

Franz Joseph Fix was the son of the district councilor and mayor of Dossenheim Antoine Fix (May 30, 1838 - July 30, 1879) and his wife Madelaine nee Dossmann (1845–1903). He married Jeane, born Heinrich (1882–1968) , on June 9, 1903 in Ammerschwihr .

Franz Joseph Fix, who was a Catholic denomination, attended elementary school and the episcopal grammar school in Strasbourg up to Obersekunda and served as a one-year volunteer . In 1892 he took over his large farm and lived as a farmer in Dossenheim .

He was a councilor there since 1896 and mayor since 1900. He was a board member of the agricultural cantonal and district association and president of the insurance association against outrageous damage to the fruit trees.

In the first (and only) election to the state parliament, he ran as an independent candidate in the constituency of Truchtersheim-Hochfelden. In the first ballot, 6,739 votes were cast in the constituency of the 7,984 eligible voters. The center candidate Dr. Will accounted for 2,101, the liberal candidate Urban 1,438, the independent candidate Dr. Jaeger 1,028 and the Social Democrats Fischer 770 votes.

In the second ballot, Franz Joseph Fix ran for Will and received 3,423 of 7,231 votes. Urban (2,675 votes) and Dr Jaeger (1,023 votes) came in second and third. Franz Joseph Fix was a member of the state parliament until 1918. He joined the center's faction as an intern .

After the First World War he became vice-president of the central dairy in Strasbourg, the Banque Fédérative and the waterworks of Kochersberg (1924–1941).

He was awarded a Knight of the Legion of Honor.
