Franz Jung (politician)

Franz Jung (born November 18, 1940 , † December 22, 2008 ) was a Swiss politician of the Christian Democratic People's Party . He was a member of the National Council from 1975 to 1991 .

Life

Jung was a qualified farmer and ran a farm in Eschenbach in the canton of Lucerne from 1964 to 1998 .

From 1985 to 2003 he was President of Central Switzerland Milk Producers (ZMP). From 1993 to 2003 he was also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the milk processor Emmi AG . The majority of Emmi is owned by the ZMP. In the course of his career, Jung was also President of the Lucerne Farmers' Association, the Central Swiss Farmers' Association, the Agro-Treuhand Schweiz and committee member of the Swiss Farmers' Association .

Jung succumbed to cancer on December 22, 2008.
