Franz Karl Auersperg

Fra ′ Franz Karl Mater Formosa Prince of Auersperg (born July 26, 1935 in Haindorf , Czechoslovakia , † January 26, 2008 ) was an Austrian politician and trade unionist.

Life

Franz Karl Auersperg was born in 1935 as the son of Prince Eduard Rupert von Auersperg and Princess Sophie, b. Countess of Clam-Gallas born. He was the grandson of Count Franz Clam-Gallas . He was the penultimate of eight children. After the expulsion from Czechoslovakia, the family fled to his grandfather, Prince Eduard von Auersperg. There he attended the elementary school in St. Pankratz near Weitwörth and then the Stiftsgymnasium Kremsmünster , which he finished in 1955 with the Matura . After studying law in Vienna , he worked for the Bunzl & Biach company in Vienna from 1966 , where he was a member of the works council . Auersperg was a member of the Vienna Board of Directors of the Paper Section in the Austrian Trade Union Federation and of the Wieden district party leadership of the ÖVP . For more than ten years he was deputy chairman of the Paneuropean Union Austria.

Religious life

1951 Auersperg was accepted into the Order of Malta . On October 17, 1992, he made his perpetual vows in the church of Mailberg Castle and became a Knight of Justice. In 1999 he was raised to the rank of Grand Cross Knight of Justice. He was a member of the chapter of the Grand Priory of Austria.
