Franz Ludwig Steiger
Franz Ludwig Steiger (born April 10, 1704 ; † March 29, 1755 ) was a Bernese magistrate.
Life
Franz Ludwig Steiger was born as the son of the Bernese mayor Isaak Steiger and Anna Barbara Brun from Neuchâtel . From 1726 he was the librarian of the city library and 1727 mayor of the external class . In 1729 he was the chamberlain of the Ober-Gerwern Society . He joined the Bernese Grand Council in 1735, served as Kastlan zu Wimmis from 1741 , from 1750 as a member of the Small Council and in 1753 as Deutschseckelmeister .
Steiger owned the Allmendingen Castle , which he had rebuilt in 1730.
