Franz Michael Veith

Franz Michael Veith (* 1799 in Augsburg ; † March 6, 1846 in Munich ) was a German genre and history painter and lithographer.

Veith studied at the Royal Art School in Augsburg with Professor Clemens von Zimmermann and from August 17, 1820 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich . After graduating, he went on a study trip to Italy. Back in Augsburg in 1825 he was appointed professor at the Augsburg Art School.

Veith painted genre and history pictures as well as portraits. He created lithographs and supplied printing templates to the “ Fliegende Blätter ”, which were also used for the Munich Bilderbogen after his death .
