Franz Moldenhauer

Franz Emil Adolf Moldenhauer (born March 24, 1849 in Stettin , † July 1, 1917 in Cologne ) was a German educator, historian and politician.

Life

Franz Moldenhauer studied at the philosophical faculty of the University of Greifswald , the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Berlin and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . In 1867 he became a member of the Corps Borussia Greifswald . In 1870 he became MC of the Corps Rhenania Bonn , of which he became a member in 1887. After completing his studies, he embarked on a teaching career. In 1887 he became a high school teacher and in 1894 a high school professor in Cologne. In 1898 he received the rank of councilors IV class. Moldenhauer wrote numerous historical writings. At the Bonn SC-Kommers on May 6, 1891 in the Dreikaisersaal of the Cologne court, he gave the speech to Kaiser Wilhelm II.

As a liberal, Moldenhauer was honorary chairman of the National Liberal Association in Cologne and from 1910 first chairman of the National Liberal Party of the Rhine Province . One of his two sons was the later Reich Economics and Finance Minister Paul Moldenhauer .

Moldenhauer was buried in the Melaten cemetery in Cologne . The tomb no longer exists.
