Franz Obermaier

Franz Obermaier (* 1903 in Munich ; † around or after 1973) was a German diplomat .

Life

Franz Obermaier was an employee of the Munich News , the Völkischer Beobachter , from 1930 to 1932 and from 1943 to 1945 a member of the NSDAP . In 1940 Obermaier was press attaché in Sofia , Bulgaria .

In 1949 Obermaier and Josef Mauerer wrote the series of articles Out of rubble, the new life grows in Münchner Merkur . From 1951 to 1955 he worked for the Ifo Institute for Economic Research . From 1955 to 1966 he was head of the German trade agency in Casablanca. In 1967 Franz Obermaier was consul in Palermo , and he was nominated as German ambassador to Burundi and worked as such until his successor was appointed in 1973.
