Adolf Max Obermayer

Adolf Max Obermayer (born July 13, 1911 in Munich ; † 1976 ) was a German diplomat .

Life

Adolf Obermayer studied law , political science and economics . In 1935 he completed his studies with a degree in business administration . During his studies in Munich, Rotterdam, London, Paris and Nancy, he worked in banks.

From 1936 to 1938 Obermayer was a research assistant at the TH Munich . From 1937 to 1939 he was an auditor. In 1938 he obtained his doctorate in Munich. rer. pole. and then took part in the Second World War as a soldier . After May 8, 1945, Obermayer was entrusted with auditing and trustee tasks.

In 1951 Obermayer joined the Foreign Office and worked at the Consulate General in Amsterdam until 1953. Until 1958 he was accredited at the embassy in Copenhagen. During this time he was promoted to Legation Councilor in 1955 . From 1958 to 1961 he worked as a first-class legation councilor in Bonn. In 1961 he was appointed Counselor transported class first and transferred to the embassy in The Hague.

From 1968 to 1972 he was ambassador to Sweden, then until his retirement in 1976 he was ambassador to the Netherlands.
