Franz Pöpel

Franz Pöpel (born October 4, 1901 in Braunschweig ; † October 1990 ) was a German professor of civil engineering at the Technical University of Stuttgart .

Important works by Pöpel deal with the handling of sewage sludge and water management issues. For example, on behalf of the Ministry of Water Management, which was still in existence at the time, he investigated the flow behavior of water and was able to empirically verify some of Viktor Schauberger's claims about turbulence in pipes.

Pöpel was a leading researcher in the planning and construction of sewage and incineration plants .
